The world-famous, award-winning Spyglass Inn sits at the western end of Ventnor Esplanade on the Isle of Wight, in a most enviable position overlooking the English Channel. The inn is steeped in history, being perhaps the oldest building on the Esplanade, dating back to around 1830.

The pub is one of the iconic buildings of Ventnor and has a reputation that is founded on good grub, great beer and a fantastic atmosphere, muddy boots and dogs are more than welcome. This is enhanced by the live music which is presented free of charge most evenings as well as lunchtime on Sundays and features many of the Isle of Wight’s top local musicians.

Newport was once a busy trading port with numerous warehouses, loading cranes, ships and barges. One of the last remaining warehouses has been extensively renovated and sits alongside the Bargeman’s Rest and is home to the Quay Arts Centre.

Newport is the Isle of Wight’s county town and is truly at the heart of the Island. The Bargeman’s Rest is just a short walk down Quay Street or Holyrood Street from Newport High Street, so is perfectly placed for a hearty meal or a drink on the water’s edge.

Welcome to Lavender Cottage. A traditional bijou cottage, perfectly positioned at the heart of the Arreton Valley on the Isle of Wight.

Refurbished to a high standard, the three cosy bedrooms can accommodate up to five people and it’s the perfect countryside retreat with two pubs and a farm-shop just steps away from the door.

The cottage dates from the 18th century and many of the original features remain intact today. It has a feature fireplace in the living room and exposed beams throughout. There is a fully fitted modern kitchen and central heating throughout. Two of the three bedrooms are located on the ground floor with the master bedroom situated across the second floor. Side access leads to a pretty rear cottage-style garden with seated patio area and there is ample parking for 2 cars.

Ventnor is one of England’s most famous seaside resorts, known for its unique microclimate. Set on the south side of the Isle of Wight, Ventnor has a decidedly Mediterranean feel with its cafes and restaurants spilling out onto the pavements of the Esplanade. The town of Ventnor lies beneath the Island’s highest point on St Boniface Down, and is mainly built onto the side of a steep hill that leads down to the seafront and beach.
